Clinical Consultation

Clinical Consultation offers clinicians a collaborative, supportive space to think through cases, refine evidence-based skills, and strengthen clinical decision-making. I provide general consultation, as well as specialized consultation in Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP), for clinicians seeking guidance, confidence, or certification support. Whether you need help with a “stuck” case, want to strengthen your skills, or are pursuing PE or ExRP training, consultation can help you feel more prepared and effective in your work.

Therapeutic work is complex, and even the most experienced clinicians benefit from thoughtful, collaborative consultation. Consultation provides a structured space to bring questions, case challenges, ethical concerns, or areas of uncertainty to a trusted colleague for guidance, perspective, and support.

To see if consultation is right for you, schedule a brief conversation with Kristen.

General Consultation

In consultation, we approach your case or concern together – not to evaluate or judge your clinical acumen – but to help you think through clinical decisions, refine case conceptualization, and explore evidence‑based strategies. Consultation gives you a space to reflect, explore uncertainty, learn, and grow with confidence.

Consultation can be especially helpful when you want to –

  • deepen your application of evidence‑based treatments,
  • explore alternative approaches to cases that feel “stuck”
  • clarify ethical or relational dilemmas
  • increase your confidence with OCD or trauma
  • connect with a colleague so you are not practicing in isolation

I approach consultation with the same humanistic, collaborative stance I bring to therapy. My goal is to help you feel more confident, less alone, and better equipped to provide thoughtful care for your clients.

PE Consultation

As a certified Prolonged Exposure Consultant, I also offer consultation for mental health clinicians who are pursuing certification in Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD. Clinicians must first complete the Intensive Workshop in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) offered through the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, University of Pennsylvania.

As a certified PE Consultant, I can provide the required case consultation once that training is completed. During consultation, we review session recordings, discuss case conceptualization, and work through the challenges that often arise when delivering PE. Clinicians must complete consultation for two PE cases as part of the certification process.

I create a supportive and collaborative space where you can ask questions, strengthen your skills, and gain confidence delivering this gold-standard treatment for PTSD. If you are planning to complete PE training and need a consultant, feel free to reach out to discuss whether working together would be a good fit. Call or text Kristen at 610-215-8111 to chat.

ExRP Consultation

I also offer consultation for clinicians treating obsessive-compulsive disorder. OCD can be complex and is often misunderstood or misdiagnosed, which can make treatment feel confusing or “stuck” for both the therapist and the client.

I am certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP) through the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. While training at the CTSA, I completed a week-long intensive training and delivered ExRP to clients under the observation of an expert clinician. I also participated in two intensive eight-week consultation series focused on the application of ExRP.

In consultation, we can review your case, refine your exposure plan, and problem-solve common challenges that arise during treatment — including both therapist and client avoidance.

The goal of consultation is to help you feel more confident applying ExRP so your client can begin making meaningful progress.

Next Steps

If you are pursing PE or ExRP training or want general consultation, reach out to discuss whether working together would be a good fit. I am happy to answer questions and provide guidance on your best path forward. Call or text Kristen at 610-215-8111 for a chat!
