Diagnostic Assessment

A diagnostic assessment helps us understand what you are experiencing so we can choose the most effective, evidence-based treatment. In one 90-minute session, we review your symptoms and history, clarify whether a diagnosis applies, and create an individualized plan for next steps.

A diagnostic assessment is a structured and collaborative process that helps us understand what you are experiencing and why. During this 90-minute appointment, we take a comprehensive look at your symptoms, history, and current concerns to determine whether a mental health diagnosis is appropriate. The goal is not to find a label, and instead, our focus is to determine if your experiences align with an existing syndrome to ensure we find the most effective and evidence-based treatment approach for your needs.

To see if a diagnostic assessment is right for you, schedule a brief conversation with Kristen.

A diagnostic assessment is a structured and collaborative process that helps us understand what you are experiencing and why.

As a psychologist, I use clinical interviews and standardized measures (when appropriate) to gather a clear picture of your emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning. We will explore patterns over time, strengths you already have, and all the factors – biological, psychological, and sociocultural – that may be influencing your current daily functioning.

My goal is to help you understand what your symptoms mean, how they fit together, and what can be done to support meaningful change. At the end of the assessment, we will review your results, discuss next steps, and create a treatment plan tailored specifically for you. Whether you are seeking clarity, a second opinion, an updated understanding, or guidance on how to move forward, a diagnostic assessment can offer valuable insight and direction.

If you are wondering whether a diagnostic assessment is the right fit, please reach out to Kristen for a brief conversation to discuss this option. Call or text, 610-215-8111.
